Wherever the mobile studio is set up the main aim is to photograph as many participants as possible in the allotted time and, although the goal is to make ‘serious’ documentary portraits, there’s always room for people to make mischief and have a little fun. The JWFPS Out-Takes are a little insight into the ‘non-serious’ side of the mobile free portrait studio events.
No under 5’s in my only rule for the events. It’s very difficult to get a good shot of someone under 5 and because of their size, I need to either lower my lights and camera or raise the person. Because of time constraints it’s much easier to raise the person so smaller people get to stand on a sturdy light box. Under 5’s tend to get very excited and forget their standing on a box.
